Release notes for Deeditt v2.10.0. Memory Insights has been rebuilt around a written synthesis of your week, month, quarter and year, with threads and echoes. The History tab has been retired.

A release that replaces scores with sentences. Insights now read your journal back at four distances, and History folds into them.
v2.10.03 min read

This release, published on September 20, 2026, rebuilds the Insights tab in Memories from the ground up and retires the History tab. Memories now has two tabs: Log and Insights.

If you have Insights turned on, nothing is required from you. Past periods are being generated in the background and will appear as they are ready.

Four horizons

Insights now show your journal at four distances: Week, Month, Quarter and Year. Switch between them at the top, and move through periods with the arrows.

Every horizon shows the same blocks, in the same order. What changes is how much space each one takes. A week is mostly data. A year is mostly writing.

Synthesis

Each period with enough writing in it gets a short synthesis, generated from your entries and returned in plain words: what happened, who was there, what you kept coming back to. A week is a few lines. A year is a short essay about what defined it, what you learned and what is still open.

If a period does not have enough days written, you still see your data, along with a note saying so.

Data

Feeling by day, and sleep and energy across the period, counted from what you tapped. No language model is involved in this block. The closer the horizon, the finer the detail; the year shows the overall shape. Unrecorded days and months are shown as gaps.

Threads and echoes

Threads are the people, projects and themes that run through your entries. At the year level they are grouped: still open (and since when), born this year, and closed.

Echoes quote your earlier writing back to you: an entry from the same date a year ago, a line that resonates with this period, and, further out, a contrast between two lines about the same thread.

History tab retired

History was an honest attempt to connect the present with the past, and the idea behind it was right. As a separate tab it is now retired, along with Memory Episodes, annual chapters, the “you’ve been here before” card and match percentages. What they were reaching for now lives inside Insights: recurring people, projects and themes are the Threads block on every horizon, and connections between distant periods are Echoes, quoted rather than scored.

What this changes about your data

Insights remain Pro, opt-in and off by default. When enabled, your entries are now read to notice the people, projects and themes they mention, so that threads and echoes can exist. Names are stored encrypted. Your name, email and account identifier are never sent. The full account is in what happens when you turn on Insights, and the privacy policy has been updated to match.
