Future Self Letter

Six unfinished sentences, turned into a letter in your own words, addressed to whoever you are in a few years. Nothing is sent anywhere — keep it somewhere you'll find it again.

What you'll get

You finish each sentence; nothing is written for you. Your words are assembled in order, with the opening and the date, into something you can copy or print. It takes about ten minutes and there is nothing to sign up for.

Roughly like this

Dear me, five years from now — Right now, I'm in the middle of a move I still can't tell was the right one. The thing I'm most afraid of as I write this is that I'll have got comfortable and called it settled. And if it didn't work out — you tried it, which is more than the version of me who stayed would have done. — me, 22 September 2026 · for you in 2031
Who are you writing to?

The six sentences are the same either way. Who you picture reading them is not, and that is what changes the answers.

Your answers stay in this browser. They aren't sent to Deeditt.

Why these are free

We think wisdom travels through lived experience rather than through attention. What you went through is worth something to someone facing it now — and it is worth something to you, later, when you have forgotten the detail.

That only works if it gets written down. Documenting your own experience is how you remember where you came from, and how you work out where you are going.

None of it is comfortable. These are introspective, and they ask for honesty rather than a good account of yourself. Publishing them is simply part of what we are trying to build: a quieter place where real experience gets documented and thought about, instead of flattened into something presentable.
