Happy Father's Day!!🩵💙

I may not have been ready to see the man I share my life with through our son's eyes 😍. But what he sees is a great dad - always ready to play and show up, the most playful and active person we've known. I'm convinced they have a bond like no other, and witnessing that bond is one of the many things that makes him a wonderful parent. It's so heart-warming. 🥰

Journey

A few days ago we had a school meeting with Lucien's teacher to talk about his #progress.

He's doing great in so many areas like maths, drawing, socially.. but #phonetics is still the same struggle we faced months ago.

As the teacher explained their reading method, I felt my resistance again. I've never fully agreed with the way they teach sounds at this stage, almost as if language is only patterns to memorize without explaining the #rules behind them.

And then today, something small...

There's a point in #parenting where the roles reverse, and it becomes a journey of mutual #learning. When my son wanted to bring a notebook to the gym (because this is a thing we've been doing for the last couple of weeks), I instinctively said no, not realizing the depth of his request. I failed to ask the right questions, and he couldn't express his reasons.

In that moment, we were disconnected, me with my #assumptions and him with his #unspoken thoughts. I now see that my growth as a father...
