We're visiting #Nicaragua 🇳🇮 — my home country. The trip from Ireland is long, but this change of environment, even if just for a week once a year, feels deeply worth it. And honestly, I think the one enjoying it the most is my son🐣.

Everything here is different. We're surrounded by #family — a big, warm, ever-moving family. It's the simple life of a small town: quiet, humble, but so full of life 🙌. We're staying in a large house with an enormous backyard, trees, plants, dogs, cats, and...

We've made our way from #Mexico, where this trip started, down to #Nicaragua, and it's giving me a whole new lens on the journey I described before. Watching him grow used to feel like something that happened mostly at home. Now I'm seeing it happen against a shifting backdrop, country after country, and it's teaching both of us something new.

There's so much good in it. He has more space than ever, he's tasting new foods and drinks, and little by little he's warming up to people and kids he's...

Fifteen days left, and I can already feel what we're about to leave behind.

Since I last wrote, part of why we're in #Nicaragua came more into focus, we're here in part for his abuela, who's sick, and this visit was always meant to include real time with her. But what I keep coming back to is him, and what this is teaching both of us.

He's sharing me differently than he's used to. Some hours I'm fully his, some hours I'm with her, some others I need to work, and he's had to learn to hold that...
