Choose when a guided journey advances, reply in comment threads, and find a more consistent web experience. Privacy and account settings are clearer too.
v2.12.03 min read

Sometimes you’re following a guided journey and feel like writing about something else. Until now, that deed counted as an answer to the prompt and moved the journey forward, even if that wasn’t what you intended.

That’s one of the changes in this release. You can also follow comment conversations more easily, start a web journey from a guided template, and find a more consistent layout across the app. We’ve clarified account deletion and strengthened privacy too.

Write without moving to the next prompt

When you write a deed in a guided journey, you can now choose to answer the current prompt or write freely.

If you answer the prompt, the journey moves on to the next one. If you write freely, your deed is saved in the journey and the prompt stays there for whenever you want to come back to it.

Guided journey prompt

You’ll see a small lightbulb for the prompt in the composer. When your deed answers it, the lightbulb fills in and shows a check mark.

What happens to your subscription when you delete your account

Before you confirm that you want to delete your account, you’ll now see what will happen to your Pro subscription. If you need to cancel it outside Deeditt, the app tells you where and helps you get there.

We’ve also fixed an issue that prevented account deletion on the website.

The heart saves a favourite

We’ve updated the wording across the app to make the heart’s meaning clear: saving a deed you want to come back to.

Your saved list is now called Favourited Deeds. Notifications use the same wording and let you know when someone adds your deed to their favourites.

Follow a comment conversation

You can now reply directly to a comment and open its replies beside the conversation. The reply count expands the thread on the deed page, while direct links to a comment thread continue to work.

Start a web journey from a guided template

When creating a journey on the web, you can browse templates by category and preview their goal, duration, pace, and prompts before choosing one. You can still create a journey from scratch.

A more consistent web experience

Explore, deed pages, profiles, journeys, Memories, messages, and notifications now share a clearer layout and more consistent visual patterns. Profile editing focuses on your public profile; a separate Settings page brings together interests, Memories preferences, password changes, and account deletion.

Deed actions are easier to find on the web too. The options menu lets you copy or share a link, translate a deed, report it, mute its author, or delete your own deed.

Privacy updates

In this release, we’ve reviewed and strengthened access checks for private journeys, the deeds inside them, direct messages, and conversations.

We’ve also made two other changes:

  • Download links for Memories exports stop working when they expire, and expired exports are deleted.
  • The inspiring deeds email no longer includes the name of the person who wrote the deed.

We’ve updated our Terms and Privacy Policy to explain subscriptions more clearly, including what happens to them when you delete your account.

Other fixes and updates

  • A deed’s comment count now matches the comments shown.
  • Apostrophes and accents display correctly in push notifications.
  • Your Week in Moments works on Free accounts.
  • If a payment fails and is still being retried, the Membership screen tells you where to fix it instead of offering a second subscription.
  • We’ve reserved some usernames.
