Over the past few months I’ve been focused on something new.
Before this, I was deep into building a content system. I pushed it to a point where it works and I feel good about it, not perfect, but enough to move on.
Since the beginning of the year, I’ve been working on a memory extension for #Deeditt. On paper, it sounds simple. Connect #memories across time, but it’s not. There’s the technical side, which is already a challenge. But more than that, there’s the conceptual part. How memories relate to each other, how #patterns form, how something you wrote months ago connects with something you did later.
When those connections start to appear, things feel different. It’s no longer just writing or storing moments. It starts to show shapes of things that happened before.
The difficulty here is conceptual. I’ve tried different approaches, different ways of connecting memories. The results work.. but they don’t feel right.
And that’s the problem, from a product perspective, this is probably not something I should be doing like this. It’s unclear, hard to validate, hard to explain, but I’m not building this from a product mindset. I’m building it because I want to understand it.
I’ve been testing it on myself for the last 4 months. Some days it clicks, other days it doesn’t. Still, I keep going, trying to get closer to something I can accept.
